Hello Again

I know it has been a while.  But I have some exciting news!!

That's right! Baby girl #2 will be joining our family this summer! I'm due July 1st but am really hoping for a June baby. So we will see what happens. Either way my little family cannot wait for our second little girl to join us!

But this little bundle of joy is why I have been a little MIA lately. Being a little sick mixed with moving and the holidays. Life was crazy. I am so glad to be feeling better and have energy again! And I know my little girl sure love mom playing with her again!

After taking some time off, I have come up with so many new ideas and thoughts that I am so excited to be implementing to Moments Noted Paperie in the next few months. There will be changes and I am so excited to share them all with you!

For now I hope that you all are having a wonderful February! I know I am! Especially this warm weather we are having here in Souther California.

watercolor envelopes

i just finished up with an envelop job where the gal wanted some watercolor accents on the envelopes. i had so much fun with them and decided to do a little tutorial for you!

supplies:

      ~watercolor

      ~water

      ~paint brush (i used a round 14)

      ~envelopes 

      ~hairspray

      ~ink

      ~nib

      ~pen holder

step one: when painting with watercolor it is really important to use a lot of water in your brush. so dip your brush in the water and wiggle it around and get it really full. then dap on the color you want to use. 

step two: after you have the color you want begin to apply the paint onto the envelope. for my client she wanted it diagonal fading from a darker to lighter pink. 

i then continued along the same diagonal line, adding more water and color (changing to a lighter shade) across the envelope.

make sure you  go quickly enough that it doesn't dry before you can blend the different strokes together.

step three: let dry
step four: spray with hairspray. the hairspray will help keep the ink when writing the calligraphy from bleeding into the watercolor. (such a good tip. i read it somewhere and i'm so glad i did! can save you from a lot of frustration!)

step five: after the hairspray has dried ( i gave it about 10 minutes just to be safe but you don't have to wait that long) put the nib in the holder and write away!

and just like that you are done and have a beautiful, unique envelope that is sure to please! hope you enjoyed and will go and try it out :)

custom vows

about a month ago i was approached by a gal who wanted me to do some custom vows for her sister who had just gotten married. i was so excited!! vows might be one of my new favorite things to work on.

i am self-taught and am always looking for new things to try and push myself and i have been trying to learn how to draw. illustration does not come easy for me, but this client wanted some artistic elements in it, so i told her i could do some flowers. she loved the idea! i did as well, but to be honest i was really scared they wouldn't turn out.

but after some trial and error i was thrilled with how the vows turned out! i mean what is not to love about them?

christmas cards

i love this time of year. fall, when the air get crisp and leaves begin to change. everything about it is just perfect. and along with this time of year are the holidays! which means christmas:) 

i am so excited to share some different christmas card designs that i have been working on! they will be live on etsy this week! we just got some family pictures taken that i am obsessed with! so obviously i had to use them in my designing:) take a look and let me know what you think!
